Our Proposals

We propose a priority to hire teachers
and lower taxes.

We propose the State Superintendent
lead a constant effort to lower costs,
identify and eliminate unnecessary
spending, and increase efficiencies
throughout the Utah public education
system.

The Utah State Board of Education
does not review expenditures below
$100,000 and this is an area of
concern. We propose that the board
lower their threshold to $5,000 and
receive immediate notification.

We propose amending State Law on
truancy that if two or more students
skip class together they immediately
receive out-of-school suspension.

We propose one policy for cell phones:
Students place phones or similar
communication devices into airplane
mode or turn off, and stow out-of-sight
during class time from bell-to-bell.

We propose that recess does not
count as instruction time. Students
must receive appropiate class time.

We propose a mandatory curriculum
of U.S. Civics, and improve Anti-Drug
messaging for all grades at the level
appropriate to the age.
